I’ve been training with Mark Edgar for three months and can’t recommend him highly enough. He started by helping me define goals rooted in my core values, which has made my progress feel purposeful and sustainable. I’ve now signed up for triathlons and Ironman events—things I never thought I’d be doing.
Our sessions focus on core strength, flexibility, and mobility. Mark is clearly an expert, with a real curiosity about how issues develop and how to prevent them from coming back. His communication is great, and he’s been consistently flexible around my schedule. A top-tier personal trainer.

I have started working out with Coach Mark about one and a half years ago. My goal was to increase strength and lay the groundwork for a healthy future. Mark does a fantastic job. He manages to motivate me and does not hold back with criticism and helpful advice. Not only does he know what exercises are necessary, he also advises on nutrition. You cannot go wrong with him, if you are looking to boost your athletic skills and live more healthily.

Mark helped me with a training plan to improve my running. I learned new exercises to work the core using the barbell and this increased my confidence at trying new exercises. Now I feel more prepared to work out, recognize the challenges and avoid injures. My running form improved after training with Mark and I managed to get gains for the new running season.
Mark is an excellent PT. I recommend him.

I started to work with Mark because I wanted to learn more about mobility. After some tests he showed me different individualised exercises. Along the way we also worked on stability, strength, improving techniques and more.
It didn't take long before improvements were visible.
Mark has a lot of knowledge about training, nutrition and lifestyle. If you have a question he will explain things to you in an easy to understand way. He is kind, patient and easy to talk to. I can highly recommend him.

I started training 2 times a week at Impuls Lerkendal 5 years ago. A young PT at this time gave me some instructions and she showed me some exercises. I then started to arrange my own training program: colleagues advised me, I observed what others were doing. I then repeated always the same exercises. I suppose that I was discreetly observed by a new Personal Trainer at Impuls during my training sessions. One day Mark Edgar (ME) asked me if I was interested in a PT lesson. I booked 3 hours. ME first assessed my general mobility. Then he proposed special exercises for me. I was not interested in achieving a specific goal, my aim was strengthening the body for the general well-being. ME corrected my exercises and suggested new ones, he increased also the variations of the exercises. The kg were reduced and the movements slowed down. Even small masses became now more strenuous to raise. ME's PT lessons showed a profound knowledge of the physiology and physics of muscles and bones. Although ME is young, he knows to suggest exercises specifically suitable for the elderly (I am 73). I have also been able to observe ME as a PT for young people. He can adapt very well his PT-knowledge to the fitness of his clients. Mark is a pleasant and supportive person, which is beneficial for enjoying the PT times. I can highly recommend Mark Edgar as PT.

I went 10 years ago to Impuls Lerkendal following the recommendation of a manual therapist. I went alone, later colleagues of the nearby Department of chemistry NTNU joined me. A weekly routine was established for several years: Tuesday and Thursday were Impuls days. In the beginning I got a pretty superficial introduction by a personal trainer (PT). I then developed my own exercises and copied those of other Impulse visitors. These exercises have been repeated with little variations over the years. I was able to slowly intensify my efforts. A new PT appeared recently at Impuls Lerkendal and Mark Edgar (ME) proposed a PT time for me. I happily agreed for 3 PT hours. ME corrected my accumulated errors, he recommended new exercises and proposed to abandon others, inappropriate for me.
After the PT sessions, training became a pleasure for me. I discovered soon progress in mobility, balance and weightlifting. ME is a young PT who can detect the training deficits of elderly women by proposing specific exercises. (I am 70). Mark has a very good anatomical knowledge that avoids training mistakes and hazards. ME is a polite and discreet person. But he is also always ready for a happy smile if the exercises do not result in elegant movements. I can highly recommend Mark Edgar as PT.

Skulle forsøke å ta litt tak i meg selv etter flere år med for mye jobb og stillesitting. Ny jobb i nærheten av Lerkendal, gjorde at jeg meldte meg inn i Impulse og mottok tilbud om gratis PT time. Mark møtte opp og gav et veldig kunnskapsrikt og godt inntrykk av hvordan han kunne bidra til å få en bleikfeit 49-åring på riktig kjøl igjen. Bestemte meg derfor for at jeg ville investere i PT timer. Det har vist seg å være en særdeles smart avgjørelse! Han har en inngang til treningen som virker å være veldig individtilpasset. Fin progresjon på øvelser og fokus på teknisk utførelse, bevegelighet og balanse, gjør at denne treningen har blitt ekstremt mye bedre enn hva jeg hadde klart å få til på egen hånd! Fremgangen kommer snikende og det er inspirerende og artig å føle at opplegg og gjennomføring blir håndtert på en så kompetent måte. Mark er også en veldig hyggelig og ydmyk person, som gjør det helt uproblematisk å møte opp uansett nivå og forkunnskaper. Anbefales på det varmeste!

Holdt på en ett lite år med vektløfting i begynnelsen av 30årene, merket at den høyre skulderen var mindre stabil enn venstre og siden planen min var/er å konkurrere i naturlig kroppsbygging så tenkte jeg det var fornuftig å teste ut en PT. Kanskje kunne jeg få hjelp til å få rettet opp det som var i ubalanse i skulderen, det fikk jeg. De første timene ga raskt resultater, det ble åpenbart at Mark forsto hvor problemet var. Etter så god effekt så spurte jeg Mark om han ville trene meg i kroppsbygging, det ville han og nå har vi trent i flere måneder med seriøst gode resultater. Kan på det aller sterkeste anbefale Mark for rehabilitering, kroppsbygging og styrketrening. Jeg følger nå et trene program som han har laget og en diettplan m.m på en app han tilbyr, trener med han tilstede 2 ganger i uken og planen i skrivende stund er å fortsette med han som personlig trener i ett år fremover. 5/5 og verdt hver eneste krone.

Impulse ga meg tilbud om en gratis prøvetime med PT. Jeg løper ganske aktivt, og begynner å bli opp i åra, og tenkte at den ene gratistimen kanskje kunne gi tips til noen gode løpsspesifikke styrkeøvelser. Jeg meldte det som et ønske til Impulse. Fikk raskt svar fra Mark og vi avtalte også at prøvetimen skulle inneholde noen fysiske undersøkelser og testing, da jeg hadde et par problemområder som ikke tålte løpsbelastningen så godt.
Prøvetimen var veldig bra! Resultater fra en del forskjellige øvelser ble målt og målingene viste klart en del ubalanse og svakheter som kunne forklare det jeg opplevde som "vondter" som følge av mye løping. Mark hadde konkrete forslag til program for å bedre situasjonen, samt konkrete forslag vedrørende løpsteknikken. Noen av forslagene var litt overraskende, men oppdaget snart at de faktisk var svært logiske i forhold til det vi observerte i prøvetimen. Prøvetimen var helt midt i blinken for meg og jeg bestemte meg raskt for å følge opp med en del PT-timer med Mark for å ta tak i dette.
Jeg hadde før dette aldri trodd jeg skulle begynne med PT-timer! Men etter en første bolk med timer ser jeg stor nytteverdi og klar framgang på det Mark pekte på som viktig. Nå skal jeg prøve å følge opp på egen hånd, ser at det fort kan bli litt slappere men satser på å greie det. Det er tross alt motiverende å merke at det hjelper bra på. Ser heller ikke bort fra en oppfølgingsbolk med timer på et senere tidspunkt.
